ABOUT SWEAT! IN THE CITY
MISSION
Founded in 2006, SWEAT! in the City produces social, cultural and educational activities mainly designed by and for Black gay men interested and engaged in leather, fetish, BDSM and/or kink lifestyles and practices. SWEAT 2010 represents the beauty, talents, strengths and diversity of the Black kink community, as well as provide an informed and authentic perspective of these lifestyles for the broader community-at-large.
WHAT WE DO
SWEAT! in the City is a weekend experience that offers a range of activities created by and for people of color in leather, as well as their friends and allies. The diverse program offers everything from education to entertainment, as well as opportunities to volunteer; network; and enjoy the company of old and new friends. Oh, and don’t forget the parties!!!
This year, we join forces with ONYX Southeast to present Blackout XVl! This exciting partnership is part of both organizations dedication to community collaboration and achievement, and we are honored to participate in this incredible weekend.

ABOUT SOUTHEAST ONYX
ONYX is the longest existing leather club for People of Color, and known for our hospitality, hosting such popular events as our infamous annual ONYX Leather Dance during International Mr. Leather in Chicago and the ONYX Cocktail Party at Mid Atlantic Leather in Washington, DC. ONYX celebrates its anniversary each Columbus Day Weekend with our annual weekend run, Blackout.
ONYX Southeast was founded in August 1999 to provide education, fraternization and serve as a bridge for men of color to the greater leather community in the Southeast US region. The founding fathers of ONYX southeast are Stan, EJ, Jamal, Reggie and Ricc. Our first bar night was held at the Atlanta Eagle in 1999, and we have been hosting a monthly night for over a decade. We are a member of the Southeastern Conference of Clubs and an active player in the Southeast leather scene.
ONYX Southeast is committed to charitable causes that impact POC, leather, and GLBT communities at large. We are especially dedicated to the efforts of HIV prevention and care organizations, as well as those servicing LGBT youth. We recently became a part of the southeastern conference of clubs.
All who support our cause may become members of ONYX. We thank the elders in the People of Color Leather Community for paving the way in order for us to exist. ONYX honors that tradition and looks forward to many more years.
